In this unit, you’ll explore how to use water test kits to look at specific chemical factors in the water found in rivers and streams. By the end, you’ll have a better understanding of what test kits you can use, the type of information they provide, and how they can be used to assess the chemical properties and overall quality of water.
By the end of this unit, you’ll be able to:
- Be introduced to the WATERCAN and FreshWater Watch testing kits (remember for full instructions on how to use these kits, you need to watch the videos that they have made or receive proper training, which you can find out about on their websites).
- Interpret/make meaning of the results from the water testing kits
- Understand what eutrophication is and how it takes place
- Learn about other chemical indicators of water quality
This course is for anyone who wants to learn how to use the water testing kits in general and understand what to consider when using them and how to make meaning of the results they provide.
