Agroecology

This agroecology course pathway is made up of 10 short, self-guided units that showcase the basics of agroecology (agriculture and ecology). Each unit is easy to complete within two hours and has associated tasks and additional reading opportunities. The units have been created in the Eastern Cape of South Africa but are applicable and appropriate for youth everywhere. Each unit builds on the one before so we recommend that you complete them in the correct numbered order. To receive a certificate of completion, which you will be able to upload to the YOMA platform, you must complete all units from 1 – 10. This should take between 10 and 20 hours to complete.

The Impact Task is an optional bonus unit in this course that you can only open once you have completed the other 10 units. To prepare for this impact task make sure you take thorough notes during each unit (1–10) to capture key concepts and collect photos and drawings of activities that you complete along the way. The impact task should take between 5 and 10 hours to complete. This is a great opportunity to test your understanding and something you will be able to keep for future ventures!
