The Environmental Learning and Research Centre (ELRC) is a department in the Education faculty at Rhodes University in Makhanda, South Africa. The ELRC is a leading research hub for all things related to research, education, and innovation in sustainability and environmental education. We take a transdisciplinary approach to addressing pressing social and environmental challenges. It has been a great joy of ours to create these short and fun micro learning units on agroecology which is a topic we feel passionate about.Â

YOMA (Youth Marketplace) is an easy to use online platform that provides youth across the globe with opportunities to learn new skills in diverse fields including digital literacy, sustainability and leadership. These short free courses are designed to be accessible and relatable, allowing participants to gain practical skills that enhance their employability and social impact. After completing each course YOMA offers micro credentials and digital certificates which empower young people to build their own CVs and take charge of their future. YOMA aims to create an ecosystem where youth can build competencies, showcase their talents, and access employment or entrepreneurial opportunities that contribute to sustainable development.
